Find a family of choice as client. If they already have some kind of pets living with them (cats/ dogs/ birds/ sugar gliders/ fish etc) that’s good. If not, imagine the family with pets. Interview them and get to know them well as if they are real first client when first starting out architectural practice.

(Project 2A)

“A family is planning forward to build a comfortable house to suit their sustainable living lifestyle. This project is about designing a human centred sustainable design home for this family.
Basically, this project is to design a sustainable home but to make the project more interesting and real, this family consists of the parents and 2 children (various age) are living together with their pets.
You as the architect must pay special attention to their living lifestyle and different needs. Different age categories will need different things. Take consideration of the parents, children, pets and sometimes might have guests come over to visit like their grandparents or friends.
This sustainable home should become their sanctuary and help them rejuvenate from their busy working life by creating a balance habitat for human and animals. Needless to say, the sustainable home is to accommodate not only for the family but including their pets which are also considered as family members.”
